Episode 10. Die Insel / The Island.This short film made for television traces the relationship that develops between a troubled, introverted young girl obsessed with the crocodiles at the zoo and the teacher who attempts to reach out to her.
After Ute continues to exhibit strange behaviour, her parents reach out to Monika, a carer at the Youth Centre, who senses that Ute’s escape to the crocodile enclosure at the zoo is an escape from her parents and a fear of growing up. Made in 1974 but not shown until 1977.
