1. Solomon Islands. Remote Kwaio Tribes. 2019. The Kwaio are one of the very last melanesian tribes holding on to their traditions. Some groups still remain in the hidden, as they call it, and live according to Kastom -their indigenous culture-, rejecting church and modern life.

2. Vanuatu. Kastom village in Melanesia. 2017. Kastom is a pidgin word (Bislama/Tok Pisin) used to refer to traditional culture, including religion, economics, art and magic in Melanesia.
The term is the generally accepted term in anthropology to describe such phenomena as well as the common and lay term used in everyday language.
