EN. A drama-documentary film about the fatal effect of poor living conditions on health, the so-called »social inheritance«. The principal characters in the film are two 14 or 15-year-old children, Carl and Hanne. Covering a 100-year period and drawing on case stories recorded by the staff of the Refsnæs Seaside Hospital, the film illustrates a number of variations of »the same old story«. The characters are played by the same two children throughout the film.
