At 14, Dolores, though loved by her folks at home, was deprived of a mature understanding that there is such a thin line between love and lust. Her seeming sense of innocence was betrayed. Her enigma eventually vanished when her grandfather, father, brother and uncle took advantage of that twisted sense of innocence. Soon after that grim realization, Dolores comes face to face battling her personal demon. She finally redeems herself in a way that a child naturally would, amid an indifferent and angry world. This domestic drama about a poor family in rural Philippines is based on a true story culled from a news clip the writer-director presented in his anthropology class in graduate school.

This is a complex autobiographical film from first-time writer/director Nils Malmros. Malmros interweaves scenes depicting moments from his childhood and adolescence. The son of a doctor, he has opportunities to see such unusual sights as the inside of a hospital morgue. He also sees a fair number of barely clad women, since sun tanning was once believed to be a health treatment for many disorders. The boy's many sexual fantasies are treated frankly and humorously. Another layer of complexity is added by the inclusion of scenes pertaining to the development and filming of this movie.

The story is based on real-life events, an Eastern European circus artist family that fled to the West. If they want to stay in the circus business they have to make up an exotic act. The mother spends all their money to buy a very dangerous act: hanging by her hair high up in the dome of the circus while juggling with burning torches. Two boys, 11 or 12, perhaps brothers, take a rowboat from shore to fish. Andrea, who's tougher, complains a lot, sometimes criticizing Felice, sometimes just complaining about life and his situation. Out of sight of shore, Andrea sees a suitcase; he jumps into the water, swims to it, and starts to push it back to the boat. While he's doing that, Felice sees a man floating, face up. While he tries to grab the man and hold on, he knocks an oar into the sea. The boys are unable to lift the man into the boat, and without two oars, can't head to shore. Will rescue come? Andrea tries to reassure Felice while also figuring out who the man is and what he's doing in the sea.

 CZ. Režisérka dětských filmů Bonžůrka a její asistentka Drahuška hledají pro svůj nový film dětské hrdiny. Příběh má být o dívce, která kvůli nemoci ztratila vlasy, a teď je plešatá. Kde ale najít tu, která se vzdá svých vlasů? Filmový štáb začne objíždět školy a hledá hlavní představitelku Rozmarýny. V jedné škole konečně narazí na dvanáctiletou dívku, shodou náhod také Rozmarýnu. Všem se zalíbí, a tak natáčení začíná. Má to ale háček. Rozmarýna musí být skutečně ostříhaná. To je sice pro děvče trauma, ona ho však s odvahou podstoupí. S tím se nesou různé nepříjemnosti, které její nevšední vzhled provází. Přesto se film podaří zdárně dokončit.
EN. The director of films for kids called Bonzurka (Iva Janzurová) is scouting together with her loyal assistants Drahuska (Dagmar Havlová) and Honza (Jirí Lábus) actors for her new film The Knee. Children for this film shall not be afraid and shy and they must have talent for acting. Thus the scouting is quite difficult. The most difficult is to find the main part which lost her hair after a serious illness and she has to spent the whole holiday in the countryside with a bald head resembling a knee. Although the visagist does his best an artificial baldness does not solve anything. From the selected little girls only the self-assertive Rosemary has the guts to let her long hair cut and shave off her head.

 Nenáročný film pro děti dokazuje, jak se mánie kolem mimozemšťanů přelila i do nejranějšího věku. Malý chlapec se totiž domnívá, že objevil stopy "ufonů" (jak dvojsmyslně naznačuje název), ale ve skutečnosti narazil jen na činnost malých zlodějíčků. Režisér Ota Koval vytvořil nepříliš zábavnou, ba nedbale domýšlenou podívanou dávno zanesenou prachem zapomnění.

 HIavním hrdinou dětského filmu gottwaldovského režiséra Josefa Pinkavy Výbuch bude o pět je žák páté třídy Ludvík Čtrnáctý. Vyznačuje se mimořádným nadáním pro fyziku, které ho žene k novým a novým pokusům, sice dětsky naivním, ale v podstatě založeným na správných vědeckých základech. Většina z nich však ~ zejména pro nepochopení dospělých - končí neblaze až do chvíle, kdy se Ludvíka ujme profesor fyziky Lumír Kostečka, který nadále bude jeho mimořádné nadání usměrňovat a rozvíjet. Vedle kladných dětskjch typů jsou zde zdařile zachyceny i typy záporné, například notorický ulejvák, kuřák a zloděj Vosecký z osmičky. Ve vvkreslenií postav dospívajících a dospělých se autoři bohužel nedokázali vyhnout řadě stereotypů se zřetelnúmi stopami literárního klišé. Film je vrak natočen ve svěžím tempu a spontánní hra dětskúch představitelů malé diváky jistě zaujme.
Na XXIV. festivalu filmů pro děti v Gottwaldově 1984 ziskal Josef Pinkava Cenu Čs. filmu Střibrnou píšťalku.

 In a town near Salamanca, an eccentric widower, aged 60, is captivated by an imp, a precocious 13 year old. Alejandro is wealthy and alone, passing time with music, chess, and his shotgun.
